Belgium Burrda shirt

While everyone is probably raving about the new adidas shirt.  I got hold of one of these Burrda shirts that was worn in last world cup.
I am really glad I picked one of these up the end of line stock, as I really like it even though I think most of the reviews thought it was a hideous shirt and are glad that they now have Adidas.  Needless to say I disagree and I think this is such a classic and a shame that they won't be making any more.
First of all, the design is very nice and some nice details on the front.
The embroidery is decent.
Sleeves are great length and shape, helm with the classic design of those fantastic colours.
The brand's logo transfer quite good but may be one of its weak points is that it will probably come off.  Collar looks nice with the classic colours.

The shirt is fab to wear, decent material.  Has an excellent shape to it giving it a sport snug fit.  This one fits perfect 19.5 inch pit to pit with a slight curve about it to the waist making it shape even better.   Definitely one to wear.

Costa Rica Lotto shirt

Got hold of one of these recently.  Nice Costa Rica shirt.  Very unique design where we have cross between a diagonal sash with a hoop.
Shirt design was used for world cup 2014.
Lotto logo embroidery.  Somewhat a bit old school.  Collar tries to be a bit different but not exactly a desirable effect.  The white front makes it look worst in my opinion.  Should have kept it blue.  Nice Ticos Contigo altogether motto.
Great length to sleeve.  Logo badge just a bit too big.
I think a Lotto logo had torned off.
Somewhat very subtle shirt.  Spoilt by a bit of over logo-ing by Lotto.  The embroidery is also poor for this age.  The material feels average.  Sometimes a bit scratchy to wear.  Sizing probably on the big side.  Small size is 21.5 inch pit to pit with big wide sleeve helm.

SharePoint 2010 Show items in list WebPart to users when there are more than 5000 items

If a list has more than 5000 items, SharePoint 2010 shows users a message.

"This view cannot be displayed because it exceeds the list view threshold (5000 items) enforced by the administrator.
To view items, try selecting another view or creating a new view. If you do not have sufficient permissions to create views for this list, ask your administrator to modify the view so that it conforms to the list view threshold."

For some reason this limit has been lowered to 5000 by default in SharePoint 2010.

To change this :

1- Login to Central Admin

2- Go to Application Management -> Manage Web Applications

3- Pick the Web application for which you want to change the List View Threshold.

4- In the ribbon above, click General Settings. This will bring down a menu, from which you should pick Resource Throttling

5- Change the List View Threshold to another value greater than 5000 and press OK, but please try to keep it to a reasonable number below 20,000 is a recommendation.

Replace "No Item in List" message in List View WebPart used in SharePoint 2007

Today, we got asked whether its possible to change the text on a SharePoint List webpart if there were no items in the list.  Like message shown below.

Umm immediately, it came to my mind that some JQuery Script could be used.

On MSDN a contributor posted how to find and empty this TD cell that is outputted by SharePoint 2007.

The jquery line (by Diego Hidalgo):

$("td:contains('There are no items to show in this view '):last").empty();

Did a bit more research and found using the Text("") method, it can effectively do a find and replace of the whole string.

Just wack something like this into a CEWP and voila

<script type="text/javascript">

$("td:contains('There are no items to show in this view of the \"Upcoming Major Events\" list. To create a new item, click \"New\" above.'):last").text("Please \"Enter Your Texts\"

below.");

</script>

Remember to also include JQuery Code declaration like below.  And in

<script type="text/javascript">

//check if jQuery already exists
if(typeof jQuery=="undefined"){
//set the path to the jQuery library to use
//var jQPath="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.1/";
//if internet then its this file
        var jQPath="/yourDocsLocation/";
        //jquery-1.3.2.min.js
        //add the reference to the page and evaluate
document.write("<script src='",jQPath,"jquery-1.3.2.min.js' type='text/javascript'><\/script>");
}

</script>

Microsoft Document Cache has stopped working

While opening office documents from a SharePoint 2007 or 2010 site on a Win 7 client using IE9. We were continuing encountered an error when saving the document.

Microsoft document Cache has stopped working.

After hours of research and googling with lots of suggestions as offer by the sites below.

http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/148/t/178459.aspx

We tried :

-Removed local document cache files from the Office Upload Centre Settings and from C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\14.0\OfficeFileCache
(This worked temporarily is has been marked as an answer by MS but the problem comes back after restart or after log off.

-Disabled MSOSYNC.EXE from Office Start Up using MSConfig
-Checked registry settings in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\Internet\OfficeSyncProcessAutostart

as recommended here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/79e88e72-e9a2-4740-a41e-dbec4511ec59/disable-upload-center-via-oct-2010?forum=officesetupdeployprevious

-Disabled Office Document Cache handler add-on from IE9.
-Removed MSOSYNC.exe from task manager processes.
-Changed Word's Save options to use Server Draft location
-Disabled IE Office Document Cache Add-On
-Remove MSOSYNC.exe and MSOUC.exe from C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14

All to no avail.  Problem was still around.

It turns out that our problem was quite simple in the end but somewhere on the line someone had not installed Office 2010 SP2 was not installed properly by CSC.

Basically, the version number reported by Office Client in the File - Help screen is not as accurate as reported by the OffCat tool. Neither is the version shown in the Add Remove

Program.  To really know which version, use OffCat tool by MS from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=36852

The tool reported it was not even SP1 properly.  Download SP2 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2687455 and then install as Admin.  Voila problem was address by the SP2 update.

Moral of the Story.  Use OffCat to find out which exact version and patch update of Office 2010 you are running and make sure SP2 is installed.
